New Zealand society is increasingly dominated by questions of identity, and a wrestling with the history of the land that provokes both passionate demands for justice and passionate responses. It often seems impossible to reconcile these narratives and desires. And a Christian response can sometimes seem unclear, or have little connection with life in the world of business.

Yet the story of the good news of Jesus Christ (Te Rongopai o Īhu Karaiti) arriving in Aotearoa has the potential to offer us a way forward in this land. The Gospel was received by Māori, welcomed for its transforming power, and then in a sense pushed aside by colonisation. Knowing the story, experiencing it in the places where it was first written, and thinking about how the story can be told in a new way among us provides an alternative to the false polarisations of our society.

As businesspeople, and most of all as Christians, this story can help us to find ways to build for justice and righteousness in our daily work, and both understand and build fruitful partnerships with Māori.

So join us for our inaugural National Dazzle at Waitangi where we will worship, remember, and dream together of what is possible in Aotearoa.
